My new 'Four Palaces' tour

You never quite know how a new tour is going to pan out but I have to say, my Four Palaces tour worked a treat! I met Shannon and her two daughters at their hotel in St James and then wandered past Buckingham Palace on our way to seeing the ancient shops along St James' Street. We positioned ourselves opposite Friary Court, St James' Palace, to see the old guard being inspected and then, with some clever manoeuvring, we stood on the Mall to watch the soldiers march past before whipping across the park to see the new guard as they marched out of Wellington Barracks. Great fun! After a bite to eat in the beautiful crypt underneath St Martin-in-the-Fields we headed for London Waterloo station to catch the train to Hampton Court. Its two palaces didn't disappoint with Henry's vast kitchens to explore and the eerie story of Katherine Howard to listen to. William's apartments were still as exquisite as always and the girls loved the optical illusions on the bedroom ceilings! A great day was had by all! Do check out Shannon's review on my Trip Advisor page - you can link to it from this site.
